My name is Kevin, and I am a student at Frostburg State.  I am studying Computer Science with concentration in Information Systems.  I has been a long journey, but I am nearing the end.  I am finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.  I returned to college in September 2003 to finish my degree. 

I am a non traditional student.  That is to say that I graduated from high school, had several careers of varying success, then found my true calling.  I went to a trade school for programming and had great sucess.  Upon graduating from the trade school, I worked as a COBOL programmer for nearly 5 years.  Some of the companies I worked for are LGA(Legal General American), ACS ( Affiliated Computer Solutions group) and IAI(Information Analisys Inc.). 

These were all great jobs for me at the time.  Here I was 23 and making more money than I had ever mad in my life.  It was at that point that I realized that I could make a good living doing what I have grown to love.  That is, being a computer monkey!

Anyway, after a while this wasn't enough.  I started to see others pass me by in the ranks.  There was nothing special about these people, it just turns out they had degrees, and I didn't.  It was at that point in time I knew I would have to cut my loses at some point and get that degree, or spend the rest of my life regretting it.  So, as you can see I have choosen the road less traveled and am a 29 year old student.  Imagine that!
